POD Quality Control: A Checklist Before You Publish and Ship

Quality Control Starts Before the First Order
Print on demand removes inventory risk. It does not remove quality risk. Your process needs checkpoints for artwork, blank selection, sample approval, listing accuracy, and customer feedback.
Artwork Check
Confirm the file uses the right dimensions, resolution, transparent areas, color profile, and safe print area. Inspect small details at actual product scale. A design that looks sharp on a large monitor can lose thin lines on fabric.
Product Check
Verify blank color, material, size chart, placement, print method, and care instructions. Check that the product shown in your mockup matches the product buyers receive. Save the approved variant and provider in your operating notes.
Sample Check
Inspect print alignment, color, texture, seams, fit, packaging, and delivery condition. Photograph the sample in natural light. Record what passed and what failed. Approve a product only when you can describe its limits honestly.
Listing Check
Make the title, tags, attributes, photos, size chart, processing time, and return policy agree with the sample. Clear details reduce disappointed buyers and prevent avoidable complaints.
Run a final listing audit with ShopBoostly. Health scores surface missing or weak fields across the catalog, so quality control covers the listing as well as the physical product.
